The locals are also known as "Shuitoutou" or "Ghost Lake" [1]. Teng Teng, reminiscent of a terrible hell. In the early years, there were also tourists who fell into high hot spring water and were burned alive. Therefore, there is another alias "Hell Valley". During the Japanese occupation period, the geothermal valley was named one of Taiwan's eight scenic spots and twelve wins, and it has the reputation of "sulfony spring jade fog". The reason is that the morning sun shines on the steam rising from the hot springs, transforming into a variety of light and shadow, such as in a dreamlike fairyland. The spring water is clear and green like jade, so some people call it "Yuquan Valley".

Beitou Hot Spring Museum

Opening hours: every Tuesday to Sunday 9:00~17:00

Closed time: Every Monday and national holidays (if the national holiday meets Saturday and Sunday, it will open as usual)
Visiting Fees: Free Description: The Beitou Hot Springs Museum was formerly known as the "Beitou Public Bathing Spot". It was ordered by the Taichung Village of the Taipei Hall in the Japanese period. The architect of the Governor's Office, Moriyama Matsuo, was supervised and built in 1913 (Taisho 2nd year) On June 17th, the two-storey building with eclectic style of Heyang was also the largest public bath in East Asia at that time. The bath area on the first floor is made of brick, the second floor is made of wood, and the entrance is on the second floor.
The bath used the public health expenses of the Taipei State Department at that time, modeled after the Izuyama hot spring bathing place in Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. On the second floor, there is a gazebo, a shoe-changing porch, and a tatami hall where visitors can enjoy a cold bath. There is also a prominent platform "Wanglou" next to the hall, where you can enjoy the beauty of Beitou Mountain. In addition, meal drinks are also sold indoors, and sometimes even art performances are arranged. In 1923 (Taisho 12 years), the Japanese Crown Prince Yuren arrived in Taiwan and visited Beichen to visit the public baths and visit the Beitou Stone in the stream. To this end, the bathhouse has also built a "Ocean Rest" on the second floor for its rest, which is located in the audio-visual room of the Wenbo Pavilion.
Visitors can go to the bathing area on the first floor to change clothes after going down the stairs. The main feature of the first floor is the large Roman baths, which are mainly for the service of male guests, surrounded by round columns, and the inlaid stained glass window grilles on the outer wall of the bath. The two together create a very bright and gorgeous bathing atmosphere. . On the other side of the large bath there is a small bath for the women and children, and there is also a separate bathroom and lounge for important guests. Overall, Beitou Public Baths is a very important public recreation and entertainment venue in the history of Beitou Hot Springs.
After the war, the public baths were used as the Zhongshan Hall, the Taipei County Council Guest House, the People's Service, the Civil Defence Command, and the Guangming Police Station. They were abandoned due to the change of management units. Until 1994, a group of Beitou Elementary School students and students in the process of teaching outside the country, found the ruined Beitou public baths. In order to preserve the monuments and reuse the space, the children, community residents and cultural and historical workers jointly launched a letter of love and hope to keep the bath. After continuous communication and coordination, Beitou Public Baths was finally announced as a three-level monument by the Ministry of the Interior in 1997. On October 31, 1998, under the renovation of the local enthusiastic residents and the Taipei City Government, the Beitou Hot Spring Museum was established. The name was officially reopened. The display of the Beitou Hot Spring Museum is in line with the space utilization of the historic site. The first floor is planned to be "Beitou Hot Spring Bathing Area", "Beitou Stone Exhibition Area" and "hot spring Beitou Exhibition Area"; the second floor is planned to be "Northern Investment". Hot Spring Township Development History Exhibition Area, "Wanglou Exhibition Area", "Tatami Activity Hall Display Area", "Multimedia Audiovisual Room Display Area", "Beitou Industrial Exhibition Area", "Taiwan Hollywood Exhibition Area" and "Into Beitou Special Exhibition room."

Beitou Park

Beitou Park consists of Beitou's 1, 2, 4, 54 and 55 urban planning parks, covering an area of 61,129 square meters. The first thing that catches your eye is the entrance spring that was completed in 1998. The daily fixed time is accompanied by music, with lights and water springs. It is a new culture of Beitou, a rich and culturally rich Taipei area. On the side of Guangming Road, passing through the rare old trees such as the Melaleuca and Luhuashu, witnessing his rich history for the nearly 100-year-old Beitou Park, he will also pass the green library first built by the Taipei City Library. Emphasizing energy saving and carbon saving, it also brings a booky atmosphere to Beitou Park. The fountain at the entrance is the first choice for film framing. Advancing along Beitou Creek, the only “Beitou Stone” named after Taiwan’s place name is produced here. Although it is no longer seen.
Crossing the trail and picking up the stairs, you will come to the side of Zhongshan Road. In addition to the Beitou outdoor hot spring bath, there will be a “Mei Ting” historical building nominated by Mr. Yuen, and is now planned by the Tourism and Communication Bureau of the Prefecture as the Meiting Visitor Center. In order to provide visitors with the most intimate service, as well as the famous hot spring museum, the Japanese-made wooden window sill and red brick building seem to be filled with the unique scent of sulphur, and the beauty of the building in the Japanese era. And the swaying landscape of the green, in the middle of it, like back to the old time.
Beitou Park has endless old stories and various kinds of animals and plants, and there are also famous scenic spots such as geothermal valleys. You may wish to take a holiday and arrange a journey of intellectual and physical education. I believe that you will be rewarded with all your rewards.
